2024 is a wrap!

This year at Powell MMA & Fitness has been nothing short of incredible. We’ve celebrated countless victories in jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, and MMA matches across the tri-state. We’re especially proud to bring home our first-ever team title at the Grappling Industries Cincinnati Championships. Which is huge for a team that has been around just over 4 years!
Our gym has exploded with growth, not just in numbers, but also in skill, knowledge, and camaraderie.
We’ve made many improvements like expanding our schedule! Now you can train with us at convenient morning and midday times (6:15 AM & 11 AM). We’ve also added a kids’ class every Saturday at noon (ages 5-12) and a women-only class on the first Saturday of each month.
A Sincere thank you to everyone who creates the positive energy that fuels our gym! Your dedication and support are everything.
As we look ahead to the new year, our commitment remains the same: to equip, empower, and encourage our community. We want to create a space where you can improve yourself, not just as a martial artist, but also as a human.

LETS GO!!!! What a day at Grappling Industries Cincinnati Championships!

Some cool stats! 🤓

✔️ TEAM PMMA WON OUR FIRST EVER TEAM TITLE! 3rd place out of 26 total teams! This is significant because we are the only team that placed that earned points solely from NoGi Matches! I think first place would have been in the bag if we had Gi competitors competing as well. THANK YOU TEAM! This truly is everyone’s Title. Teammates, coaches and competitors made this happen. This is 3 years in the making.

✔️ We completely closed out the 170lb division. In a massive 12 man bracket. 1st , second and third place were all from our team! That’s a classic case of iron sharpens iron. Mad proud about that.

✔️ Coach Isaiah unfortunately had no one who’s signed up in his black belt weight division. But he did win the absolute division (all weight classes)!

Congrats everybody! Back to the drawing board!

Isaiah’s from San Diego California and received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2021

🏊‍♂️
He’s completed an Ironman Triathlon!
(2.4-mile swim,112-mile bike and a 26.22-mile run completed in that order)

🏥
He’s currently a med school student at UC’s College of Medicine.

Isaiah’s personality is as solid as his jiu jitsu and were super lucky to have him! He’ll be teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the GI every Saturday at 8:30am starting in November! (NOV 4)

Next time you see him say hey and ask him for a GI recommendation!
